The Seek Bayou
A Poem

When you called me by my name
In the Seek Bayou where only spirits tread
You begged, gasping between wet, heavy sobs
And swore to me again that this was your last time
I looked up and saw you
Kneeling,
Dirt caked your face
And blood streaked your torn blue jeans
