Borne from the caverns of darkness
Crafted by the hands of light
Hephastus emerged from the earth with broken wings
Her tears streaked her glossy, downturned face
When the hand of her goddess came to strike her
She did not bend to her will or break
When the hand of her maker came to soothe her
She dropped to her knees and prayed
